My Students
"Do you see what I mean?" This is a very common phrase, but unfortunately... my students often cannot see the concept or skill about which I'm teaching!
My 7th grade scientists attend a public "turnaround" school in Baltimore City.
Just two years ago, our school was classified as one of the lowest performing in the state of Maryland. But today, thanks to the amazing efforts of our students and staff, we are well on our way to "turning around" our school. My students work hard and want to achieve at the highest level. However, they don't have all of the necessary classroom tools to do so.
My Project
A projector would enable my students to view video clips, PowerPoint presentations, charts, graphs, and student work as a class during instruction. In the past, we have relied on making dozens of copies of these items, so that students could review them at their desks. Not only would a projector save paper, it would also make my instruction much more meaningful, because everyone would be looking at the same visual aide at the same time as the lesson progressed.
Please help me to project high expectations in our classroom.
A projector is such a basic classroom tool, and it is one that my 7th graders sincerely need. Please help give them all of the academic tools that they deserve!
