My Students
This asks is inspired by my mom, my friend, and my students, all at different points in life: more than half a century, 2 decades, and six/seven years, yet all having their image of self influenced by the american educational system. When I see them, I see: brilliance, genius, a thirst for knowledge; but also jaded by the way school has socialized them they are left to handle false feelings of inadequacy. My mom can add 5 three digit numbers in less than 45 seconds in her head, but she doesn't call it addition, more like, "how much money we spend today?" My friend can braid the most complex geometric shapes on any area of someone's head, carefully selecting the angles, dimensions, and shapes to create a vision. Yet, she does not call her self a geometrist. How many of my students will never actualize? How does the world suffer when these beautiful and complex minds and all their skills are not seen as transferable to a learning environment?
My Project
With this interactive projector, I will be able to recreate the well oiled machine that was my classroom pre-covoid. To ever see me with technology in the class is to know I use it with finesse and grace, and honestly my 2020 class deserves to see that.
There are some things more easily displayed when color coded and it's so much more easier to color code when you are not limited by physical page layout and spacing, and did I mention how many colors are offer through technology?
