This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach AP Biology to 21 extremely gifted 12th graders at EBT High School. These are students who have excelled in science over the past 3 years, have signed up for extra research classes starting at 7:00 AM, have spent hours and hours on science fair projects, have worked above and beyond the average student. The kids are EBT's brightest science students, many of whom are working to enter into a career in science and are working at a college level yet have never had the benefit of the resources that their peers do. The internet is bursting with multimedia on this subject and the students, being quite computer savvy, could start preparing Power Point presentations, instead of the old school poster paper projects, to enrich their classmates and promote engaging discussions. With the use of an LCD projector this could all be possible. I can't say enough about the great students who you would be helping, they are truly worthy of your generosity.
