This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are embarking to our new age of computers and learning about computer science and coding. Some of my students have not discovered how to use computer programing in a way that captures their imagination. This coming year that can inspire each other while viewing each others projections.
My students live in a predominantly low economic area with both parents working to make ends meet and through their low educational training.
The students in my 3rd grade class have high inspirations but are limited by their lack of resources. Our school tries to meet many needs, but computer science training is not at the top of our priority needs, since there are so many others survival needs.
My Project
My third graders would highly benefit from exposure to computer science and coding by showing their creative ideas and projects through a screen projector. This will serve to inspire others on how they can plan for future jobs as computer scientist, while still at the elementary school level!!
My project will serve to make a difference in my students life since computer science seems to be only reserved for people who seem financially stable.
My students, mostly Hispanics and females are yet intimidated by the world of computers and computer programing. I would like to bridge this gap by exposing them to a rich curriculum that exposes them to the endless possibilities that will effect their lives in school now and possible provide them with experience in better jobs for tomorrow.
