I am incredibly lucky to work with a group of eager and hardworking 4th grade students, many of whom come from a low-income community and receive free lunch. Because of your kindness, my students now have access to high-quality pencil sharpeners and durable pencils—simple tools that make a big difference in their daily learning experience.\r\n\r\nPencils are used constantly in our classroom, especially during math lessons, writing activities, and problem-solving work. Having reliable sharpeners that create a neat, sharp point saves valuable instructional time and reduces frustration for students. Instead of struggling with broken pencils or waiting to sharpen, students are able to stay focused, confident, and engaged in their work.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who previously felt discouraged by constantly dull or broken pencils have already shown increased confidence and independence. These supplies help create a smoother, more positive learning environment where students can focus on doing their best work. Thank you for helping meet such an important classroom need and for supporting my students' success each day.","fullyFundedDate":1668552308668,"projectUrl":"project/keeping-things-sharp/6588414/","projectTitle":"Keeping Things Sharp!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Vargas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1170795_orig.png?crop=1536,1536,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760728774265","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-v-vargas"},{"teacherId":1170795,"projectId":9757625,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom now has a color Smart Tank printer, and it has already made a meaningful difference in how my students learn and engage with their work. While many people use printers at home, having reliable color printing in the classroom allows students to see lessons come to life. Diagrams, reading materials, student projects, and visual aids are now printed in true color, helping students better understand concepts and make stronger connections to what they are learning.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for my students is seeing their work printed exactly as they imagined it. Artwork, charts, and presentations feel more \"real\" and professional when they are in full color, which has boosted student pride and motivation. The wireless capability has also been a game-changer—students can easily print assignments and collaborative work, making our daily activities smoother, more interactive, and more fun.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who learn best visually have especially benefited from this technology. Color-coded notes, illustrations, and images help them stay focused and confident in their learning. This printer is not just a piece of equipment—it's a tool that supports creativity, understanding, and excitement in our classroom every single day. During small group rotations, my students are learning to place their finished work in the drying rack. \r\nMy students enjoy being creative and independent. My young students enjoy using the paint sticks and with a little adult guidance and support they are learning to use these paint sticks. They use these paint sticks to create a scene from a story. They painted a neighborhood building during our 'Building Study'. \r\nThank you for helping me support my 3- 5 year old's. It may not seem like a big deal, but every year I see it in my student's faces when I allow them to decide on the medium they want to use to color and decorate their work.
