Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We have been learning how to code in the classroom since the beginning of the year. The students are progressing nicely. We want to create an extension of this learning by using the robots and drones we have. Our classroom needs an Apple TV so we can project our work up onto the classroom board from our computers. With the ability to do this, the students will be able to show their classmates how they have worked through certain problems with their coding. It will also help me as a teacher demonstrate how do certain things in all aspects of STEAM straight from my computer without them having to huddle in groups around my desk.
These kids are hard workers!
They are students looking for the opportunity to do something amazing. With limited funding, they don't get the same opportunities other students do. The drive to learn in these kids is strong! They want to prove themselves day in and day out! We are in a low socioeconomic area where opportunity doesn't show its' face. These students strive to show that one should not wait for opportunity, but should create it and seize it!
My Project
An Apple TV will help the students see what their fellow students are doing to solve problems. Whether it be in coding or any other areas of STEAM. Students who are stuck on certain areas will get to glance into the minds of their fellow students and see how their minds work.
Being able to learn from one another is valuable to students.
Not only will they be able to see how the minds work of their fellow classmates, but they will also get to see how their teacher's mind works when it comes to STEAM. The Apple TV is the doorway that we are looking for.
