My Students

My students come from many different backgrounds and come to me with very different experiences. They speak many different languages and have very different educational needs. They come from different kinds of families and different living situations.

My students are coming to school for the first time.

These four year olds are eager to learn and engage with their peers. The best part of working with my students is that they all accept and love each other regardless of all their differences.

My Project

A project is an in-depth investigation of a real-world topic worthy of a student’s attention and effort. The Project Approach builds on natural curiosity, enabling children to interact, question, connect, problem-solve, communicate, reflect, and more.

My preschool students have shown interest in cars.

They want to learn about how cars work, what different types of cars there are and how to build cars. We will investigate these questions by doing an in-depth study on cars.

We need a variety of small cars and books about cars to get started on our car study. The preschoolers will use a variety of methods to discover the answers to their questions. We will use the small cars to discover different ways to make the car move. We will use the non-fiction books as resources to answer all our questions.
