Project Supplies for Project Based Learning

Help me give my students the raw materials to create crafts and goods based on their research of different countries. They will sell the crafts to raise money for this year's field trips!

My Project

My rising fourth graders are eager students who love to learn through projects and hands-on experiences. This year, we plan to help them learn about multiplication and division by immersing them in a project to create a world market. They will research different countries, design a craft, toy, or good based on what they learn, and then "mass produce" it to sell in our town square. In order to get our project off the ground, we will need many different basic supplies, such as tape, glue, construction paper, markers, popsicle sticks, etc.

The goal for this project is to have students engaged in the process of designing, creating, marketing, and selling, all while growing their multiplication and division skills!

Selling their products will give our students a real-world application for a set of math standards that sometimes seem isolated and unimportant. In reality, being able to multiply and divide are critical life skills, not just in fourth grade, but forever!
