Your awesome donations helped us create fun neon, glow-in-the-dark art projects for students from 4K through 5th grade. Our goal was to have an art show that showcased student artwork outside of the classroom. By partnering with the Literacy Night committee, we timed the art show to align with the event centered on the book \"Finding Gobi\" by Craig Borlase and Dion Leonard. Each grade was assigned an animal from the Gobi Desert to create, with 4K making bats, 5K working on lizards, 1st grade crafting bunnies, 2nd grade doing owls, 3rd grade creating beetles, 4th grade making camels, and 5th grade choosing between eagles, leopards, or bears.\r\n\r\nWe kicked things off by setting up black lights in a dark room, along with a fun neon slideshow. Students dove into the project over 3-4 weeks, getting hands-on with their artwork, meeting deadlines, and signing their pieces. At the art show, the displayed artwork glowed brilliantly in the dark, turning the room into a vibrant showcase of creativity. It was great to see strong interest from both students and parents, resulting in an impressive turnout and a line of eager visitors waiting to get in.\r\n\r\nThis experience was particularly meaningful for our school and sparked renewed interest in art among students, even those who typically aren't excited about it. The feedback from parents, teachers, and administrators was highly positive. We're looking forward to making this an annual event, rotating themes while keeping our focus on glow-in-the-dark art, thanks to your generous contributions.","fullyFundedDate":1755718684180,"projectUrl":"project/neon-dreams/9569336/","projectTitle":"Neon Dreams","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bush","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9647111_orig.jpg?crop=1920,1920,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723400624547","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9647111"},{"teacherId":8949980,"projectId":9469739,"letterContent":"Thank you for your kind generous donations. Your generous donations really helped my students unleash their creativity and keep making art right up until the last day!\r\n\r\nWe certainly go through a lot of glue in the art room, and the Elmer's glue sticks you provided were a hit with all the grade levels. They were used for fun projects like warm and cool color silhouette cityscapes, awesome Minecraft collages, and even some super cool watermelon weavings! Plus, we used a ton of paper for art projects, and my 4th graders had a blast with the Crayola markers, creating mind-boggling optical illusion art. The bright construction paper colors, especially the pink and green for the 1st graders' watermelon weaving, brought so much life to our projects!\r\n\r\nLaminating sheets are another favorite of mine! They're so important for preserving artwork—not just for the students, but for me, too. I use them to laminate items I want to keep year after year. My students have been raving about the new decorations at the start of this school year!\r\n\r\nAnd let me tell you, the students were over the moon with the new Crayola markers!
