Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We started this year with minimal supplies but gathered more and more as the year progressed. These materials were purchased out of my own pocket or through the generosity of Donors Choose. But, I want to start next year ready to roll!

As I glide towards the end of my first year of teaching I have learned so much about what supplies a successful classroom needs and how many items are consumed during the school year.

The construction paper, colored pencils, highlighters, post-it notes, and watercolors requested here are to restock what we have used and exhausted. Expo markers and whiteboards were hot commodities all year so these should last us until summer. The scissors, clipboards, and rulers will give us class sets to eliminate wait time when several students are waiting to use the same item.

Of course, because of your generosity, if we have all of these items at the beginning of the year instead of gathering them week by week we will need a place to store things. The paper storage shelves and bins will help us stay neat and organized so we can focus on doing so instead of searching for materials. Overall, this project not only restocks what we have used the most of but also adds items that I wish we had all year long.
