Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work with amazing kids in a Title 1, 1 star school who love to learn. These students are looking for any opportunity to learn something new but really need their attention to be captivated. As a 5th grade teacher, I am constantly in contest with games, technology, and videos. My students are smart and inspired but need my help to bring it out of them with engaging technology and activities. These kids could rule the world if given the chance.

My Project

The items in this project will allow me to set up reading centers next year. My goal is to improve my students reading comprehension and fluency via games and engaging reading materials. Teachers are constantly in competition of video games and TV to keep students attention. Many students are not able to sit and read for long periods of times. In order for my students to be successful in education, testing and life, they really need to improve their reading skills. My goal next year is to improve my small group teaching practices by setting up more center based activities
