I teach low-income students Geometry and Trigonometry. They come from all over Queens to go to school my school. Most are performing below grade level and struggle with basic mathematical skills. Math is probably the least favorite subject for most of my high school special education math students. It’s my job as their teacher to help them fall in love with the subject again. At first they are so reluctant to take risks, due to their fear of failure, that I have to build up their confidence anyway I can. In order to do this, I must find creative ways to captivate their attention and maintain their focus through various mediums.
My Project
My students have various learning styles that are difficult to address without the use of technology. I like to have an interactive classroom setting that allows all students to participate and a document camera will all me to do so. My smartboard is broken and my school cannot afford to replace it.
I will be able to captivate any classroom with a document camera.
This portable projector and document camera will allow me to capture and display documents, 3D objects or experiments. It ensures vivid, detailed images. With one-touch auto focus, I can quickly focus on what’s important. Plus, it features a built-in microphone for added versatility.
