Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a Title 1 Elementary School in Greenville, South Carolina. 91% of our students are on free or reduced lunch. My students are curious, energetic, driven, creative, and reflective learners and we are looping to 5th grade together! At age 10, they have faced more challenges then most, making them some of the most resilient group of kids I've ever known. I will do anything to make our classroom a safe place for them to learn, and structure is a large component of what makes that possible. We are moving into a portable this year, and need bookshelves, a conferencing desk, and supplies to maximize our space and help us learn best!
Having an organized classroom will provide structure to our classroom environment.
My Project
This year, my 5th graders and I are moving to a portable and we need your help to get all of our supplies organized. 5th grade is a year of preparing students for the transition to middle school. In my classroom, we are active learners who need efficient space to transition smoothly.
These supplies will help my students stay organized and maximize learning time!
The desk is for student reading conferences, equipped with plenty of much needed shelving. The easel will be used for our morning meetings and to store markers, clipboards, & dry erase boards so we can work on the floor!
The aquarium blue storage bins are for student group materials where they can store their journals, folders, and school supplies.
The crates are to store headphones and provide alternative seating.
Finally, the mailbox will be used to turn in assignments and better communicate with families!
Organization is vital to an effective classroom. The more organized our classroom can be, the more we can learn!
