My Students

Technology is the present and the future. My students need to learn how they can use technology to further their education.

Students at our school are highly motivated learners whose test scores keep on improving.

We are a model school for our district. My classes are full of students ready to experience history. They become fully engrossed in experiential activities were they become people of the past to learn about it. My students range from GATE students to heterogeneous classes.

My Project

I am requesting a document projector for my students. This projector will improve class participation. They become motivated by being able to show off their work and become actively engaged in assignments. The projector will also become a tool to improve comprehension of text. They will use the projector to show off their group work assignments and explain their own understanding of the topics we study in history. Once work is completed students will really want to "be the teacher" and explain the conclusions they came to. I will also use this projector to show students how to use the text. They will more easily find information and in turn how to find it themselves. I will also be able to model assignments for the class. By being able to show students how to complete an assignment they will have a greater understanding of my requests and how to show their learning.

Everyday I strive to make all my students learn history and enjoy it.

Every tool and strategy I have brings me closer to that goal. A document projector can help bring more students into the learning process. It can turn the uninterested student into the student who is excited and motivated to share and explain their learning. Exciting more students about learning history will make students better understand their own world and thus better world citizens.
