My Students

My students are 5 and 6 years old in Kindergarten in a middle to low socioeconomic area. Our school is Pre-K through 8th grade, and we qualify for Title 1 services. Only through our partners in education and wonderful resources like Donors Choose are we able to equip our classrooms with the resources that they need. 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. I am implementing Project Lead the Way in my Kindergarten classroom this year.

Project Lead The Way provides transformative learning experiences for students across the US by creating an engaging, hands-on classroom environment which empowers students to develop in-demand knowledge and skills they need to thrive while engaging students in real-world learning.

My students are very inquisitive when it comes to using technology. They seem to have a little experience from home. These apps will allow me to not only teach the PLTW curriculum but also teach them how to appropriately use technology.

My Project

We need an iPad with a case to use with during Project Lead the Way activities. The iPad will be used to access the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) student resource area. I will also download the appropriate Apps used in the PLTW modules. PLTW creates an engaging classroom environment unlike any other. The LAN adapter will allow the iPad to connect to our classroom projector without wires. This will allow everyone the use of the iPad while projecting to our whiteboard.

Project Lead the Way empowers students to develop and apply in-demand, transportable skills by exploring real-world challenges.

Through our pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science, students not only learn technical skills, but also learn to solve problems, think critically and creatively, communicate, and collaborate. We also provide teachers with the training, resources, and support they need to engage students in real-world learning.
