Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I school where all students receive free/reduced lunch. We have a high population of English learners. We are located in the southeast part of Stockton where there isn't much to offer the community or youth programs. Our students are excited and work really hard to increase their knowledge and meet our state expectations. Many of these students come from single families and/or broken homes. School is a safe zone for them and this gives them a positive atmosphere.

My Project

This project will benefit our entire school site, assisting our students with memories for photo taking for our yearbooks, and school web page as well as teaching our students that capturing memorable moments in their primary grades. Speakers are used for positive time during lunch time to enjoy music and positive moments as rewards for all. Our students live in southeast Stockton and do not have much positive programs in their community. Having these items would benefit students to capture wonderful memories outside of their community. Our project is to reach out to every student and show them being positive and showing good reads and capturing moments goes a long way.
