My classroom needs updated interactive technology to capture my students' interest and to keep them engaged in math lessons. Using an iPad to give lessons will allow me, as the instructor, to circulate the room freely and more frequently to minimize disruptions, monitor learning, and clear misconceptions. A standing table provides support for materials and allows me to scan the room more efficiently when not circulating the room compared to teaching while sitting.
The use of an iPad will allow students to participate in the lesson with ease.
The wireless element of the iPad will allow students to demonstrate their abilities to the class from the comfort of their seats. The ability to pass the iPad around creates efficiency and minimizes the time needed for students to walk to the front of the class. However, with the use of a standing table, students can present to the class more formally when they are presenting a project.
