My Students

My students are enthusiastic and eager to learn about their ever-changing world. In my classroom, we embrace the uniqueness and diversity that make each of us all so very special. My students are representative of a typical 5th-grade classroom.

It is my desire to create an environment that fosters a love of learning and problem solving that will serve my students throughout their schooling.

My Project

Computer science is quickly becoming a new global language. It is also one of the fastest growing occupations available for young people. Unfortunately, it is predicted that there will be a shortage of a well-trained workforce by the year 2020. It is also predicted that there will be over 1 million jobs that are dependent on coding that will go unfilled in the US alone. Much of our daily interactions rely heavily on technology. That technology depends greatly on the development of new and cutting-edge software. Teaching children the language of coding and logical thinking will be critical in preparing them for their futures.

Dash is a fun and interactive robot that can help children develop their coding skills.

I am requesting a Dash robot and a Kindle tablet so that my students can learn to program.
