We have thriving third-grade students in our classroom! We refer to it as "our classroom" because we are a classroom community with a growth mindset strengthening our love for reading. My students are reaching great heights and touching stars they thought were unreachable! They are innovative thinkers, creative writers, and growing achievers to make the world around them a brighter place.
I have the joy of teaching inner-city third-graders who are working daily on their social-emotional learning skills and speaking positively to others.
One of the quotes we love is said by Kid President. He stated, "You don't need a CAPE to be a HERO, you just need to Care!" We are soaring on accepting positivity and throwing around KINDNESS like CONFETTI as the Superheros we are!
My Project
We will be using these materials for hands-on engaging learning tools in the form of puzzles, task cards, resources, games, and station activities. I laminate them and allow students to explore these manipulatives to increase their learning and allow practice within a skill. I am utilizing the colored paper to motivate students into a brighter visual on the activities including partnered activities to increase classroom climate and kindness in the classroom.
I have a lot of visual and kinesthetic learners in my classroom full of superheroes that don't wear capes- well sometimes we do!
My students are also engaged in a lot of interactive notebook activities for math and reading as well as assisting them in learning to take notes utilizing graphic organizers that we glue into our notebooks to use as a resource in writing, reading, math, science, and social studies. My students are also working on social-emotional learning and engaging in creating a kinder classroom environment.
