Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In third grade students have a lot of emotions, we are learning about our emotions and how to deal with these emotions. I want to create a calming station in the classroom. This will be a place where my students can go anytime they are having strong emotions. It will be a safe place for them to express how they are feeling and learn to control how they are feeling. I will use these items to help my students and to also properly store them in my classroom. The cubicles will give my students a place to sit and to store our items. The timers will allow the students to manage their time in the corner. They will set the timer and cool down during that time. When the timer goes off, the students will know that it is time to clean up and go back to their seats. The other items in this project will give the students something to do to calm their minds when they are having strong feelings. My students come from many different backgrounds and have many different home lives. Some students need this more than others but all of my students will benefit from these supplies.
