Project Based Learning-Live Butterflies!

Help me give my students live caterpillars they can watch grow into butterflies!

My Students

I teach 2nd grade. The kids at my school are very loving. They try their hardest and will do anything for their teachers. Some live in tough neighborhoods or homeless shelters. They still come to school wanting to learn and happy to be there. We always want to make sure to provide for every student.

My Project

Our 2nd graders are starting to learn about plants, pollination, and pollinators. We teach through project based learning because our school is in the process to become a Stem Certified Elementary school.

Our students will have the experience of watching live caterpillars grow into butterflies then release them into our garden!

We are building our own pollinators garden with birdhouses and plants we will grow from seeds. We would love the students to also learn about growing the plants from seeds by using a science station before we start the process!
