This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are asking for an extra Lego Education Spike Essentials kit for our 1st through 4th-grade students, which will put our current collection from one kit per table to two kits, water bottle rocket kits for our maker space students to explore rocketry in the spring, and tablets to run our Lego Education kits and other robotics we have in our classroom.

We are a computer science, engineering-focused classroom and where the two meet through robotics we learn with hands-on, project-based activities and could use extra materials to add to our collection and to replace outdated resources.

Our students are very excited about learning hands-on about engineering and robotics. They would love the opportunity to expand that knowledge with the ability to have equitable use of the equipment. They beam with joy and excitement when they have their chance in my room, and I would love to see more examples of that emotion daily.
