Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

By providing our transition program with some baking and cooking equipment, we would be able to teach them how to become more independent young adults. Our program teaches lessons for independence, such as money & banking, job skills such as resume building and filling out applications, community learning where we go out into their community, and cooking skills. We are asking for an air fryer/oven, cookie sheets and cooling racks in order to teach them how to survive on their own.

By providing various cooking essentials for students to utilize, such as the oven/air fryer, baking pan sets, and cooling racks, this will ensure in making the independent living skills lessons a success.

Another hope is to encourage the students to host occasional school/community wide baked goods give away, to showcase their culinary skills.

With proper funding for the materials, I feel that this would be great and most definitely get the students involved in their lessons and encourage them to continue working towards independence. Thank you so much for the opportunity.
