We are an urban school district in the second-largest city in New England. My students come from over 35 countries and speak more than two dozen languages. It is the "biggest little town around" because we all have so much pride in Worcester! The strength of my students is that they all have rich culture to share with one another, while feeling like one large family. Our classroom is actually a community in itself, which truly supports an artists' atmosphere!
High quality visual images are an integral part of any art education program. Having a classroom projector will support all students to build the skills necessary to meet the four strands of the National Core Arts Standards. Projecting images of their own artwork will facilitate the feedback and reflection process which supports the Presenting and Responding strands. Students will build creativity and communication skills by viewing work done by their peers and professional artists, as they build upon their own bank of research and ideas. Being able to project such images will give equal access to all students, facilitate group discussion, and encourage collaboration within our classroom community.
