Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are located in one of the elementary schools in our district. The students are in pre-K through 8th grade. Every spring I get to work with all the students in the building with technology integration and fun programs. In the spring we focus on building the school community, starting around Read Across America Week.
This year we are a little different since we are separated but still trying to do school wide fun.
My students light up, laugh and enjoy themselves with our assemblies and school wide activities. We all need to laugh and light up a little more with the current state of the world.
My Project
Throughout the year I take various workshops and professional development opportunities that happen all over the state. This year there are no in-person workshops going on everything is virtual. Even school is 100% virtual this year. Being at home for all the workshops means I am in my kitchen chair all day with life going on as normal all around me. Being in one place for a period of time is not good on the back.
I have signed up for several day-long professional development workshops and I am in need headphones that allow me to sit back from the screen and still hear.
Having background noise is inevitable while working from home, so headphones that can cancel that out will help me focus on the professional development at hand. There are 13 hours mandatory from my district plus the Math conferences I chose to go to.
