My Students

I need to attend this Bootstrap training to integrate math and computing education to enable equitable access to and success in both subjects for all students.

My class is filled with 21 eager students who love working together to complete various tasks.

We are one big happy family, and our school is home to a large population of ELL students (92%) and is Title I. My students face many challenges while living in a new country and attempting to learn a new language. My goal is to make their transition as smooth as possible in hopes to prepare them for great achievement.

My Project

I am requesting funding for a 2-day summer Professional Development workshop called Bootstrap in Los Angeles, CA. Bootstrap integrates math and computing education to enable equitable access to and success in both subjects for all students in grades 6-12. I will be teaching the components learned during the summer when the next school year begins.

By attending Bootstrap training, I will be able to bring computer science and programming into my elementary school 6th grade math classrooms.

This opportunity would make a difference in the lives of many students by allowing them to critically explore how technology is changing our lives and being used in every part of them.
