This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These memberships (Speech Therapy Toolbox and Themed Therapy SLP) include multiple webinars for professional development in various topics for speech therapy, materials for use with students and a community of SLP’s to connect with regularly.

The materials will provide professional development through webinars in all areas of the field as well as digital and print materials to use with the students that are systematic and step by step from assessment through levels of therapy to dismissal.

It will also provide a community of experienced SLPs with a variety of knowledge in all areas of speech therapy who are willing to assist with learning new information, strategies, materials and so much more.

The students will be able to use the materials to learn their new articulation, language, fluency (stuttering) voice skills systematically from the assessment of their skills, to specific activities that will teach the students the skills they are lacking and when they have learned their skills they missed during assessment they will have the skills that their peers have.

I will also learn new material and new strategies to meet their goals which I will teach them based upon their individual needs in articulation, language, fluency or voice- by participating in professional development courses and consulting with other SLP’s about specific skills I needs to teach the students. This will help the students who do not learn their skills with the traditional strategies the skills they need through new strategies and materials.
