Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Team building develops these essential skills in a child. Problem-solving skills, creative thinking, verbal communication skills, and resilience are important skills to have to be successful. My students will be developing problem-solving skills by strategizing with their peers. Students will be able to move around and grab a stool to meet with their group to work cooperatively. Others who tend to be more anxious may choose to remain at their desk and use a chair band to help them persevere through the activity. Students develop new thoughts and ideas by working with others from different cultures and backgrounds.

These experiences will allow them to practice expressing their ideas verbally and being an active listener within their groups.

Many of our students come from low-income households and are second language learners who are struggling to assimilate into the school community. By the use of traditional board games, students will be able to build on their problem-solving and verbal communication skills. My goal for this project is to have a long-lasting impact on these students' futures.
