Problem-Solving with Lakeshore STEM Kits
My students need a K-1 STEM bundle, chain reaction kits, and an additional fairy tale STEM kit to learn to solve real world science problems.
I work in a public school that serves a diverse population of students. There is a wide variety of academic levels, as well as a wide range of interests in my class. My students are a highly motivated and hardworking group of children. Some may have more scientific and math knowledge than others, but providing engaging and motivating hands-on experience like these bundles offer allows all students to access the same content. Students get an "insider's view" of how engineers apply mathematical skills and scientific knowledge to solve problems.
"Think and Wonder, Wonder and Think" - One of my favorite quotes from Dr. Seuss. Students are eager and waiting to be challenged; if given the chance, they can discover the solution.
I am requesting a K-1 STEM Bundle, Chain Reaction Kits, and a Fairy Tale Problem Solving Kit.
These real world STEM investigations will provide content rich investigations that reinforce the science and engineering concepts we have been learning while encouraging student team cooperation and collaboration. My students will learn how to work together to achieve a goal. These stations will teach students how to apply the science they just learned to the real world, and I will get a class of motivated, excited, student scientists.
By completing the projects in this bundle, students will not only gain perspective into the careers in STEM, but also their interest will be piqued in exploring these fields themselves by participating in hands-on experiences. Finally, students will be able to share their knowledge and insights with other students. By educating them, students will understand that these careers (and their salaries) are waiting for them as adults.
