Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The technology requested for this project will allow all 1,027 of our students to take a more active role in designing solutions as they participate in project based learning. Each grade level works on two major projects per year that allow students to learn the required standards in an active way. All of the projects provide an outdoor learning opportunity for our students and a chance for students to make a difference in the environment and our community. These projects focus on the student's ability to problem solve and create as they integrate the arts into their learning. Some of our current projects include: building a Monarch waystation, building a native pollinator garden, improving weather preparedness in our community, impacting erosion on our nature trail, raising chickens and Rainbow Trout, composting, pollution impact, food waste, and food scarcity. Technology will enhance our learning spaces and allow our students to make meaningful connections to the content.

The FlashForge 3D Printers will allow students to print models of their designs as they problem-solve solutions to erosion, food waste, and challenges faced by the plants and animals involved in our projects.

Students will be able to print their designs and create both models and functional designs.
