Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are mostly Juniors and Seniors who have not passed more difficult Math classes and need additional support. I feel if I make the class more fun with hands-on activities, my students will start to like Math, be more engaged, and excel in this class.
I also have many students who are Special Education students with learning disabilities.
Many of them are at an elementary grade level and function much better with hands-on manipulatives and materials. They like to color graphs and it helps them realize differences better than just black and white.
My Project
These materials will help my students work in cooperative learning groups and learn how to work together with various learning types. They will be able to use dice and spinners to assist in their learning of this math and make it fun, too!
