My Project
At my school, more than 80% of students are Black, Latino, and/or Native American, and more than 90% are from low-income households. That being said, I love my students! There is nothing in this world like teaching middle school students. Their outlook on the world and the things they say, make me smile daily. Many of my students, however, read below grade level. We use a program that shows growth as they move through the lessons. The ultimate goal is to grow one hundred percent in a year. This is a huge goal for my students! In order to help them grow, and not become frustrated, I break the goals down into smaller increments. I like to give my students prizes at each level to help keep them motivated.
