Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach in a primarily immigrant and working-class neighborhood in Los Angeles. My students come from supportive families who are involved and concerned. Some of my students are above grade level, some are on grade level, and some are struggling readers. Even with all this diversity, my second graders have one thing in common: they all love learning!

As a teacher, I feel certain qualities are essential for students to have for them to be good citizens and thrive in the future.

I am requesting class prizes, such as colored pencils, sketch pads, earbud cases, and stickers, as incentives to keep my students motivated to try their best and to continue being good citizens. I am also requesting Clorox disinfecting wipes to keep our classroom clean.
