Our students love music. They are passionate about music and music-making. Music is what keeps them motivated to come to school. They excel in music, despite our school being situated in the midst of five federal housing projects.
Most, if not all, of our students come from homes of highest poverty.
Our school has a 70% highly disadvantaged rate.
Beautiful music comes out of our orchestra room. Our students play with great passion. Music is what they excel at. Our students would never have been able to play in an orchestra were it not for the school orchestra program.
My Project
Our Orchestra students need a powered speaker for rehearsals and performances. String instruments can be quite soft at times and to capture the full dynamic range of the instruments, we need a powered speaker to help our students realize the full sound potential of the instruments. The extra power cords are needed for two smaller, existing amplifiers that were donated without power cords.
The technology of the powered speaker will enable our students to utilize technology to enhance their rehearsals and performances.
It will be used at our many performances throughout the year at care homes, shopping malls, festivals, community events, and festivals.
Many, if not all, of our students come from homes of extreme poverty. They would never have been able to play an orchestral instrument or play in an orchestra if it were not for the school orchestra program and thanks to generous donors.
Thank you in advance for supporting our hard working and talented youths!
