My Students

I teach twenty-four, amazing, first graders in a predominantly African-American, Title I inner-city Baltimore school. We have many wonderful programs at our school, including a recreation center and a Judy Center. My students are eager to learn and are very creative, resilient, and kind. Although my students come in ready to learn everyday, they don't always have the materials necessary to complete all of our tasks for the day or the things that we need to keep our classroom clean and healthy. My students and I would be so grateful to receive new materials that they can use to help them prepare for second grade and beyond!

My Project

These materials will be used to congratulate students on completing a successful year of learning in first grade. Students have overcome the challenges of virtual learning and navigating life during a pandemic. We would like to reward them with some fun snacks and other items such as play-doh, slime, sidewalk chalk, and more! We would appreciate any donations to this project and so will our students. Let's send our students off for summer the right way by supplying them with some treats to congratulate them on a job well done.
