Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have great students who are disadvantaged through no fault of their own. They live on the east side of Indianapolis and work hard in spite of their hurdles. The students have a desire to learn and realize that education is the way out of difficult situations.

We are a Title I School with limited resources, yet our students work hard to be the best they can be.

Last year, we exceeded the expectations of most of the other elementary schools in the district. This was achieved through the hard work of my students and their classmates.

My Project

Your donation will assist in creating a strong test-taking environment for my students. When they create independent work, it will allow me to truly evaluate their progress on goals. These partitions will eliminate distractions and prevent students from being tempted to look at their neighbors' papers. And, since all the students work at different paces, these partitions will make secondary activities less distracting to the other students still working. My students will be thrilled to work with new materials and be able to throw away the flimsy file folder partitions made out of file folders. With your help, these privacy partitions will increase student focus, independent thinking, and higher achievement while taking tests.
