Most of my students come from single parent homes with low-income or government assistance. My students face a multitude of challenges in their neighborhoods and homes. However, our classroom is one where my students know that they are safe and can enjoy being a kid.
My students are eager to learn.
They enjoy talking about what they've learned each day. They really enjoy the engaging learning activities during Math learning time. They also enjoy working in a variety of learning centers where they can either work independently or with a partner. They encourage each others' accomplishments with a round of claps and encouraging words. I look forward to each new day of learning with them.
My Project
My students take weekly assessments that require them having privacy. However, my classroom is not large enough to accommodate students sitting far enough away from one another to have privacy during assessments. Having privacy partitions will allow my students to sit at their desks and take their assessments without worrying about onlookers and other distractions. Having a storage unit for the partitions will keep them neat and in a designated location.
My students will be more focused during assessments.
Having privacy dividers will keep my students focused and on task. They will not have the distraction of someone sitting too close to them. They will then be able to focus on the assessment that is in front of them with ease. This will also keep them honest; not being able to look onto someone else's work. Having privacy dividers will definitely impact my students' test scores in a positive manner.
