Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is located in NY. Most of our students come from low income families. Our class is an ICT classroom which provides supports to students with disabilities. The disabilities range from speech-language to autism. An ICT classroom has both general education students and special education students who work in groups to help each other. We use all the resources that are possible and given to us to help our students make progress.

Our students work hard with all the resources and materials that they have.

We enjoy seeing our students working together in partnerships.

My Project

My students are learning how to take tests and they tend to look at each others’ answers. My students need privacy dividers to help them concentrate while taking a test or working in a partnership. My students enjoy telling us answers, so a fun and easy way would be with answer boards. We always do a few quick quizzes to make sure that our students are on track with their learning from asking basic numbers to showing us an equation to writing sight words and letters to match a letter sound.

Students learn best when they are working together or when they have privacy away from any distractions that are around them.

Privacy dividers will help them concentrate while they are writing their best work. Some students will be able to concentrate on their reading and be able to move up reading levels.
