My students need privacy partitions for testing and concentration during independent work in class. My students also need a paper organizer to turn in their assignments.
Our school is a really great place, and I am always trying to make improve upon our learning environment to make it the best experience possible for my students.
I teach in a fifth-grade regular education, special education, and English Language Learner inclusion classroom.
I have students that come from many different backgrounds. By the time they get to fifth grade, some of them begin to realize that they are behind their classmates. It is my passion to change that and help all of them be successful.
My Project
With technology taking a much larger role in our society, we also prepare students with tech in our classrooms. At my school, we have laptops in which our students use a lot of engaging educational programs to enhance their skills in all subject areas. We also use a variety of other programs to have students show what they know and create projects through Word, Google Docs, PowerPoint, Excel, etc...
Our school is also transitioning to taking many of our unit, district, and state assessments online.
With that said, the laptop screens stand up so that other students around them can see what is on them. This is both very distracting and does not give privacy to a student's work. Putting students in rows for testing does not work to give them privacy anymore. Therefore, I am asking for privacy barriers. These barriers will allow students to sit right beside one another and have the privacy and concentration they need to do their best. These barriers are of high quality and will last for many years.
I am also requesting an organizer for students to turn in their assignments. With three classes and over sixty students a day, this organizer will help keep their assignments in order by their respective homerooms.
Lastly, I am requesting clipboards for my students to be able to write when they are doing labs, partner work, and group work away from their desks.
