My students first experience with elementary school will be filled with laughter, learning and discovery. The year will be spent learning to work together as they discover about themselves, their community and the impact their actions have on choices they make in and out of the classroom.
The kindergarten students in my class are energetic and curious.
They enjoy moving, dancing and interacting with each other. Hands-on learning gets them excited! The children are learning to be global minded and to be service oriented.
The kindergarten students will be applying elements of art (shape, line, color) to draw a design on a foam plate. They will use their designs to print their pieces of art on paper. Multiple brayers will allow children to utilize different colors. Students will be able to choose what color(s) they want to use to create multiple prints of varying colors.
The children enjoy drawing and this project will allow the students to see their drawings in a different form.
Printmaking will be a new experience for the children and will get them excited about art! I also envision students sharing their stencils with each other!
