Printmaking for the Community

Help me give my students basic printmaking materials, tools, and create a night for our community to experience creative expression and art making.

My Students

Tenth through twelfth grade students are special human beings that need creative outlets for human expression. Many students lack a cheerleader advocating for their creative expression, so it is with great gusto that I begin to facilitate the creative arts studio at FHS.

Our high school art program serves approximately 600 students.

We are committed to bridging a highly competitive edge for students after high school with arts, communication, and entrepreneurial opportunities.

Our Farmington high school students possess spontaneity for conversations and interpretation of thoughts, and our ART program will communicate an outlet for introspection. It is my intention to build a new program standard of excellence for FHS students.

Many of our students have not had the opportunity or resources to investigate art since junior high school. We are nestled in a culture of arts in Northwest Arkansas, and hope to use this as an advantage to our program. It is my goal to facilitate an avant-garde art program that lends itself to creative successes in high school and beyond.

My Project

I intend to use the materials and tools to increase awareness of printmaking processes. Students will gain a grasp of processes related to basic printmaking without a press. This project will implement a variety of collaborative and community based activities. Encouraging art making processes to solve real world scenarios and create community based hubs for art making is the goal of this project. We will promote our art studio through art make and take nights and create an atmosphere of art appreciation through the funding of this project. We will host community art nights that allow our FHS students to guide participants in art making processes.
