Help me give my students pre-treated fabric for cyanotype printing! This will eliminate the risk of chemical ingestion and cross-contamination.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Troilo's classroom raised $526

My Students
My students are curious, energetic, and trying to navigate being back in the school building for the first time in a very long time. Throughout the adjustments and struggles, my students find ways to push through and turn their creativity back on. After spending over a year with their faces on a computer screen, my students are once again learning how to be safe, be respectful, and be productive in a shared school studio space. I already see those with a passion for art starting to blossom, and those who don't have that passion yet are getting more comfortable taking risks when making art.
My Project
By creating cyanotype prints on fabric, the students will better understand composition, positive and negative space, transparency, and printing using light. The final prints will then be used as material for their next project, embellishing an image to add color and texture. This process will introduce some and strengthen the skill of sewing, attaching, deepening an image, emphasis, and much more. These pre-treated fabric sheets will amaze the students as they watch an image form right before their eyes, bringing the wonder and excitement back into art class after over a year of virtual learning. By purchasing pre-treated fabric, the risk of chemical ingestion is significantly reduced as the chemicals are on the material and completely dry. This also eliminates the need for close contact between students during the messy process of mixing and applying cyanotype chemicals.
