This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are from inner-city Baltimore. They are group of students that are just learning how to switch classes for different subjects now that they are in 4th grade.
My students are hard workers who want to succeed.
More than 50% of my classes are on Principal's, Honor, or Success Roll. Many of students come from homes that do not have computers or internet access. They have to access the internet or computers to do projects or research papers at school or the library.
My Project
Most of my students do not have access to printers to complete projects. When given projects many of my students have to hand write their projects. If they do print things for their projects they have to go to the public library and pay for copies.
The printer would be used to ensure that my students could turn in neatly typed projects with pictures.
They would be able to type papers and find pictures on our classroom laptops and print them out. My students would also be prepared for middle and high school where higher quality of work for projects is expected. We also need ink and copy paper.
