it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family."—Kofi Annan
I have gifted and talented 6th and 8th graders this school year who crave the extra challenge to reach their potential in my classroom.
I would like to support them by providing them the technology that is lacking in my classroom.
My students are curious and motivated learners. They come from very diverse cultural backgrounds, and many are receiving free or reduced-price lunch. I would like to foster their critical and creative thinking through the use of technology in order for them to be college and career ready.
My Project
My students need a colored printer to further demonstrate their understanding in Common Core math, engineering, and next-generation science. They will create data analysis projects and they'll showcase their research reports to the community. In addition, they will be creating science fair projects and compete at the county science fair competition and beyond. As a complement to online resources, we will be using the printer to create hands-on manipulatives such as maximizing volumes cones from circles. At the end of the school year, many students will use the printer to create a portfolio as evidence of their learning.
I am fortunate to teach a group of passionate young minds that are full of potential.
However, several of them are being presented with challenges in life and are in need of extra support and encouragement. They are in need of engaging and thought-provoking activities. I am hoping that with the added technology in the classroom, I will be able to motivate students further, build their confidence, and increase their learning.
