This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from very diverse backgrounds and bring many special qualities to my classroom. As a Title 1 School, many of my students are on free and/or reduced lunch and often lack the basic supplies necessary to be successful students.
While we are all different, we have much to learn from each other.
As Gifted learners, my students seek challenges; however, they lack the necessities when it comes to learning above and beyond what the general education curriculum calls for.
My Project
We currently do not have a working printer in our classroom. It would be awesome for my students to be able to type their assignments and be able to print them. Students also would be able to scan or copy their writing to share with others!
We also currently use our computers to research information.
It is has been very difficult to assign in-class projects because we do not have a way to print directly into our classroom. Having a shared printer would enable students to research and print.
Finally, our curriculum calls for students to be able to type. With a printer, the students would have the tools they need to be successful.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
