Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As speech-language pathologists in a middle school setting, our population consists of students with autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities and intellectual disabilities. We strive to create an inclusive environment for all with any materials they might need.
Many of my students are visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners who enjoy learning and seeing new information displayed across multiple modalities.
Our students come from a low income area in NYC. There are over fifteen hundred students in our school ranging from diverse cultural backgrounds. We teach outgoing and outspoken students who love to learn. We are a team of three speech-language pathologists who all want to help our students succeed in the classroom and beyond.
My Project
As speech pathologists, we strive to make learning fun, interesting and engaging. One way to do this is to print our various language materials in color!
This printer can help foster growth!
Most of our students are visual learners and materials that have colors, pictures, enlarged prints, graphic organizers, charts and graphs give students the support they need to feel successful and empowered.
With this printer we are requesting, we would be able to provide students hard copies of the strategies they are learning, in order to carry into their classrooms, bring home to share with family and in many cases, utilize in their everyday lives.
