My school is a STEM school, but we lack the resources and materials needed to get our students thinking like engineers.
My students attend an inner city neighborhood school in the third largest school district in the country.
Our neighborhood has the highest murder rate in the city, so students are very limited in being allowed to go outside during the day. There is no air conditioning. This year, my classroom has already reached 98 degrees, and students have trouble being productive in that heat.
My student population is 100% African American. All of my students are designated low income and receive free lunch. Over half of my students are reading below expected third grade levels. Few of my students have access to computers outside of school.
My Project
Our classroom will use this printer to be able to print beautiful work in color. There are so many things that we do online and work that students create on technology that we then cannot display in the classroom. With this printer we will be able to print out and display all the wonderful and beautiful creations our classroom has created. The printer will also help me, the teacher, to print and create engaging classwork for use in the classroom.
My students need to display their computer created work throughout our classroom.
