Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are the epitome of triumph and resilience. With poverty and gun violence plaguing our community, students still enter the building every day eager to learn and make a positive impact on our school. Students ask many questions about math and science and draw real world connections to their life experiences.

I want to continue to foster my students' inquisitiveness and excitement by allowing them to work collaboratively to solve performance tasks.

Performance tasks increase the rigor of our classroom by allowing students to think critically and creatively, work collaboratively, and communicate effectively.

My Project

Before the pandemic, access to a working printer has always been an issue for our students. As a teacher, I believe in providing everything for our students when we have them during these 8 hours of a school day. I never want them to feel the responsibility of having to walk to the public library, go to a friend's home or any additional step to be a scholar and complete work. As we are transitioning back into the classroom, technology will continue to be at the forefront of our learning. This wireless printer in our classroom along with the toner will allow for my students to printer from their laptops any project based learning activities, research papers and classwork.
