Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 4th graders at a Title I STEM Academy in the greater Los Angeles area. They are resilient students who come from all walks of life. These students and their families left their community school in order to attend a brand new charter school with the hope that they will only be limited by their creativity! Many of my students are English Language Learners and first generation Americans.
All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch due to economic need.
My students have goals of being scientists, athletes, teachers, and doctors. They love learning and appreciate hands-on-learning and project-based learning opportunities.
My Project
The resources I am requesting will allow me to print resources in color for my students who are currently experiencing poverty and homelessness. Due to the housing crisis and poverty, several of my students do not live in traditional housing, and don't have access to the internet to look up resources to help with their school work at home.
This printer will allow me to provide my students with anchor charts, manipulatives, and high interest reading material regardless of their housing status.
I am excited to provide my students with the opportunity to have equitable access to information and resources found on the internet!
