My Students
My students are extremely passionate about learning and work extremely hard to achieve what typical students can accomplish so easily. They attend school in an inner-city district and are in various self-contained classrooms with a multitude of disabilities. I service students ranging from Developmental Delays, Intellectually Disabled, Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Other Health Impairments, Learning Disabilities and more! As you can see the needs truly are immense.
All students receive speech therapy 1-2 times per week, and love coming in small groups and receiving the supports they SO need!
Communication is something we take for granted, but my students experience the hardships of being unable to communicate effectively on a daily basis. Communication truly is the essence of human life.
My Project
This printer will give my students access to individual worksheets in which they can complete hands on. Currently, my school has two copiers, but they are constantly broken and we never know when they are going to get fixed. I attempt to print everything out for my students at night in my home, but I truly cannot prepare for everything. I also need to make copies of papers from various evidence-based learning materials for my students.
Currently, my students either share worksheets or they have to complete them on scrap paper while looking at the projector.
I want to give my students their own work they can take pride in, are able to take home.
The use of a functional printer and copier in my office will only enhance the learning capabilities of my students!
